Getting Started

3. Attend pre-trip virtual meeting to review trip details, respond to questions, and meet fellow travelers! Although meeting is optional, it is highly recommended.

Itinerary

Day 1 - Casablanca

 

Arrive to Casablanca, Morocco! Airport transportation to your hotel will be provided giving you the opportunity to get settled in after a long flight. Meet other guests and get acquainted at the complimentary Welcome Reception.

Day 2 - Rabat, Meknes, and Fes

You will arrive at the capital city of Rabat to embark on an city tour which includes views of the grand 17th century Palace and Mausoleum of Mohammed V. Travelling to the imperial city of Meknès, you will see the gate of Bab elMansour, one of the most impressive monumental gateways in North Africa, adorned by green and white zeillij tiles. The remainder of the day will be spent at Fes at your leisure, connecting with the symbolic heart of Morocco and the unique character of the country's oldest imperial city.

Optional Experiences: Arabian Dinner & Entertainment in a Riad - Treat yourself to authentic cultural dinner, a live band, and traditional entertainment which includes belly-dancing in a traditional Moroccan setting. (MAD560.0* Note that these options and pricing are subject to change).

Day 3 - Fes

Join a Local Specialist today to explore the Medina, one of the largest thriving medieval centres in the world. See the Royal Palace and Dive Into Culture during a visit to the round dye pits and tanneries, revealing Morocco's ancient leathercraft. Later, you can admire traditional Moroccan handiwork during a visit to a carpet cooperative. Spend the rest of the day shopping or relaxing in a lantern-lit courtyard away from the Medina crowds. Join the group this evening for a special opportunity to Connect With Locals over a Be My Guest dinner experience, featuring Moroccan specialties served with wine in a traditional Riad.

Day 4 - Erfoud

We follow the old caravan trail south, stopping for a lunch in Midelt, a market town set within the high plains between the Middle and High Atlas mountain ranges. Continuing along the palm-fringed Ziz Valley and past the Tafilalt oasis, we arrive in the oasis town of Erfoud, regarded as the 'Gateway to the Sahara'. Its golden façades and towering dunes have made it a popular location for filmmakers for decades. This evening we dine at our hotel.

Day 5 - Tinghir

Journeying west, we arrive in Tinghir, one of the most beautiful oases in southern Morocco and home to the ruins of the ancient Glaoui palace. We continue through part of the Todra Gorge and cut through the mountains for one of the most dramatic views in the country. Here we will overnight at one of Trafalgar's Stays With Stories, Xaluca Dades, surrounded by panoramic views of the Atlas Mountains.

Optional Experiences: Saharan Adventure-We’ll take jeeps from our hotel and travel 50 km (8o miles) to the foot of the stunning sand dunes of the Sahara, arriving in time to witness the glorious desert sunset (or sunrise, depending on timing). You’ll also have the opportunity to try a traditional Berber headdress, which local tribesmen use to protect themselves from the sand and desert elements. Day 6 - Marrakesh

Blending effortlessly into the arid landscape, Ouarzazate has provided a backdrop for such famous movies as 'Lawrence of Arabia', 'Cleopatra' and 'Gladiator'. See the UNESCO listed fortified village of Aït Ben Haddou in the High Atlas Mountains and continue through the Tizin Tichka Pass to Marrakesh the 'Red City'. Like many other former imperial cities in Morocco, Marrakesh comprises an old fortified city the Medina and an adjacent modern city. Marrakesh is home to Morocco's largest traditional souk (market) where you may wish to spend some time learning the art of haggling.

Day 7 - Marrakesh

Visit the ornate Bahia Palace during a city orientation with your Local Specialist and spend some time soaking up the energy of Djemaa el Fna Square in the Old Quarter with its palm readers, acrobats and snake charmers. Spend the rest of the afternoon lingering in one of the city's beautiful gardens, discover the vibrant arts and culture scene or consider experiencing an authentic Moroccan show.

(1) Berber Cuisine And Culture Evening: Experience the best of Berber entertainment in Morocco. An extraordinary show in a traditional setting, you’ll indulge in a delicious variety of Berber cuisine in a fabulous setting and witness their horsemen's skills, tribal dances and more.(EUR57.0*Note that these options and pricing are subject to change.)

(2) The Square at Night and Traditional Dinner: You will visit the magical Jemaa el Fna Square and enjoy the exotic sights and sounds of Marrakesh by night. (3) Majorelle Gardens And The Berber Museum: No visit to Marrakesh is complete without some time in the lovely Majorelle Gardens, bought and restored by the late Yves St Laurent. Day 8 - Coastal Essaouira

You will travel to the laidback shores of Essaouira this morning. Stopping en route, we Dive Into Culture to visit a cooperative involved in creating cosmetics from traditional ingredients. Consider a delicious seafood lunch and enjoy some free time before joining a city tour of the UNESCO listed Medina, the walled Jewish Quarter and Skala fortress. Spend the rest of the evening at leisure.

Day 9 - Casablanca

This morning you will journey north to Casablanca where you will enjoy views of the magnificent Hassan II Mosque, built for the late King's 60th birthday celebrations. Later, everyone will meet for a Farewell Dinner to celebrate an unforgettable trip!

Day 10 - Farewell

Roommates

Trip packages are offered in both single and double-occupancy. Although every effort is taken to secure two-bed rooms, on some occasions the double occupancy will feature a single bed and rollaway bed, murphy bed, or sleeper sofa. We advise only selecting the double-occupancy package to share a room with someone that you know; Dreamy Tropical Travel will not be held responsible or liable for any claims or issues arising out of shared rooming.

Payments

By submission of a complete registration form and deposit you will reserve your spot on the trip. Final payment for all remaining trip fees are due sixty (60) days before departure. If notice of cancellation is received before final payment is due, the deposit will be retained along with the Travel Protection payment. Trips are transferable to another individual by email request only and must be received by the final payment due date.

Any early return expenses will be your responsibility. Due to contractual obligations, there are no refunds for absence or early departure from a trip, including but not limited to missed hotels, transfers, meals or sightseeing cruises or optional extensions. Dreamy Tropical Travel strongly advises that you to purchase travel insurance which usually covers such circumstances (you must confirm this however by reviewing the insurance policy carefully).

If you require and reserve airport transfers and did not purchase your flights as a part of your trip package, you will need to provide your arrival and departure flight information to us between at least 65 days before flight departure. It is your responsibility to update us with any changes to your flight schedule to ensure that you receive your transfers. Failure to do so may result in missing these services and no refund shall be due for missed transfers resulting from missing or outdated flight information.

Although every good faith effort is made, there are circumstances which arise that are unplanned and outside of the control of our Tour Operator (Operator). The Operator will be responsible for supplying the services and accommodations described in the itinerary, except where they cannot be supplied or the itinerary is changed due to delays or other causes of whatever kind or nature beyond the Operator’s control. In such cases, the Operator will seek to supply comparable services, accommodations and itineraries and there shall be no refund in these circumstances. 

Additionally, by booking this trip you acknowledge that you are voluntarily participating, knowing there are risks. You agree to accept any and all risks based on your decision to participate in such activities.

Airfare

Airfare is not included; it is your responsibility to plan and secure your flight.
